the year is 1928. you’re sitting on a velvet chaise in a linen tea dress, the windows are open and the curtains billow around you in the absent breeze. the heat is stifling, the air too thick to think. the sounds of the radio drown you in a syrupy daydream.

it’s the early hours of the morning. you lie in bed, smothered by the bleary dreams that keep you awake, your eyes red with nostalgia for a time that never was. the world seems to be spinning slower. the moonbeams shine in through your window.

it’s 1952. the pool glitters with the sunlight, the refreshing mirage begging you to immerse yourself in the cool water. you catch the cerulean eye of the boy across the way. you share a heated glance over your sunshades. you take a sip of your coca-cola. suddenly, the day is unbearably scalding.

you’re in the car with your friends after a long day at the amusement park. laughter vibrates through the air as you speed down the highway, the windows open, the wind wild around you. your thoughts are soft and sweet like the cotton candy you eat absent-mindedly as you drift off to sleep, content.
